Revolving-Door Clients
Don’t Give Up on Your Clients: Lessons Learned from Revolving-Door Clients is a video blog post that explores a phenomenon that happens all too frequently in mental health agencies – sometimes even in private practices.
Have you ever had a client that comes in for treatment and then drops-out of treatment, sometimes repeatedly? These are the types of clients that I have termed revolving-door clients. (I don’t know if that is an actual term in the profession, just something that seems fitting in my experience as a therapist)!
Revolving-door clients can present challenges and frustrations for mental health practitioners. The question is, how do we deal with clients who present over and over again for treatment?
Don’t Give Up on Your Clients: Lessons Learned from Revolving-Door Clients takes a look at this type of client and discusses ways to assess their readiness and motivation for treatment. It also focuses on ways to positively encourage them to engage in treatment.
Below is the video for your viewing followed by some additional resources that may be helpful in your work as you encounter revolving-door clients.
